After a couple of retirements we're on the lookout for a top notch stopper.  Here's a bit about us.

At City Fringe Football Club we like to enjoy our football, the banter, the beers after, and even the training.

We are a good bunch of guys playing in our 10th season in the ASFA - we started in Div 5, worked our way up to Div 1, and are playing this season in Div 2.  We've got varying degrees of football pedigree, but we do have a real live englishman, as well as several punters who can sound like Merseysiders. Kind of.  Unfortunately though, our captain supports West Ham.  Anyway, despite a wide range of skill and fitness levels (particularly at the start of the season) we win lots of games because we play as a team - there is no 'i' in team (although there is an 'm' and an 'e').  Also we hate to lose.

Our home ground is the spiritual home of football in Auckland - the mighty Walker Park.  We train at an all weather pitch near Remuera on Wednesday nights for an hour or so.  Although about 15 minutes of that is taken up in deciding on who should be in each team - depending on who turns up in which kit.  Often we go with the politically inappropriate blacks and whites vs coloureds.  We haven't had to resort to shirts vs skins - yet......  Afterwards there is optional beers in the clubroom to discuss the latest sports results (including semi-sports like darts, fishing and premier league), gardening, kids, and occasionally the week's upcoming opposition.

If you want to know more (and you're good), text Ben on 021 769 537.
