like a well balanced set of divisions.Thanks too, to Howie, AD, DT
and others for their timeless last-minute lobbying.

Maybe I am obtuse, but is Div 6 now a Masters div or not? The following teams are 'masters' teams so there are teas aplenty for a masters division...
Greenhithe 1 and Greenhithe 2, Oraltia, Zamantix Old Fekkas, Boca seniors, Pukekohe Men playing with Boys AFC and Seafood "I no speak Emglish" AFC...
The claims of 3 teams only being available for masters was an untruth?

Oldies : a number of the teams in Div 6 have a fair proportion of players under 30 and therefore it is Div 6 and not Masters - Oratia, Zam and possibly SFH have a younger contingent. Bocas & Puke are Div 5 at their request, so GH1 & 2 and SFC were the only genuine oldies (that's 3 teams - don't know about Viti or NZCSA - you got it now Stu

CORRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zamantix have no players under 30 and we also stick to the old rules of only three players between the age of 30-35. Get your facts straight. AD wanted to stick to the proper Masters League rules ( even when the ASFA allowed younger players for some teams ) and we have and will stick to that. We are Zamantix Old Boys and we will compete with this team of old fellas.

Pak has gone to sat, lynfield is a combination of a few left over (playing both days) and some additional new players to sun.

No, Viti is not a masters team. They are young Fijian lumberjacks that fell any old timber that gets in their way. Just wear 2 sets of shin pads and a jock strap borrowed from ManPooStu and you should be fine...maybe add in a mouthguard for good measure.
The SC etc is a young Chinese? team, no old fellas.

I think what some are trying to say... there is a desire for a Masters League and there are plenty of masters teams, but when ASFA is unable to guarantee a masters league then of course other teams will start adding new players on the basis of need, rather than on the basis of age to meet the requirements. Surely ASFA can understand teams dont want to be jerked around with a 'maybe', 'maybe not' attitude towards Masters division.

Pity about Boys playing with men Pukekohe AFC not being in the Div 6...but thankful no longer need to go on a massive road trip down south... its a long way!

Hey Enlighten, the only jerking is you enjoying yourself!
ASFA are trying to stick to FIFA guidelines when using the
term "Masters".
There is only a couple of true "Masters" teams, ZAM and CITY.
The rest don't qualify, thus ASFA don't want to call it Masters.
Puke is a 45min trip on a Sunday, and it was a delight visiting
them, and enjoying their hospitality afterwards.
My only concern for them, is that the teams in their div don't
look the sort to enjoy their bar, and they may need to look at
that when they choose a div next year.
The only players Viti felled last year were their own...LOL.
So, Enlighten, be positive, a new season is upon us, be positive,
and enjoy, and if ManUstu's jockstrap does it for you, go for it!!

You have a point. Pukekohes hospitality will be wasted on many of the Div 5 teams. I humbly propose dropping Puke and Boca Snr (ok, Achmed excepted, this centenarian must be in bed by 5.30 pm) in to Div 6 and send NZCSA and Vitishitti in to Div 5. That way Div 5 can be the typical 'no social drinking under any circumstances with the enemy' and Div 6 can become what it should be... ' we only play on sundays to have a beer after the game league'... Beers for thought ASFA. Everyone knows certain teams don't socialise, certain teams don't provide access to toilets or changing rooms etc etc... Group them all together in Div 5... Lets at least have access to beer with the opposition on a sunday... pretty please, with a juicy ManPooSTU on top...

not sure why a team of 20 year olds are in div 6 myself? I'm sure asfa in their infinite wisdom know the answer?

yes sounds pretty stoopid to me, 5the division has Viets, Chinese,
Malaysians and Africans , so why not this nzcsa, and put Viti or
boca in place.
