Two teams deducted 3 points for failing to fulfil the assigned fixture due to fighting - both teams will be fined $500 (subject to appeal)

It's not really that much of a fine at all actually.. don't know how you think that it's "exorbitant" at all. Split $500 between your team of say 14 comes out to $36 a player. In fact ends up being cheaper for the players than a red card for all of them which would have been $50 each...   

Isn't there a standard 6 game ban for fighting?

Just make the fine $5000. 95% of the ASFA teams wont care as it wont be applicable to them the rest can pay that or stop fighting and having games abandoned. Easy.
